Transport in Liverpool
Liverpool John Moores University is centrally located in the city. Our student accommodation in Liverpool is located close by. That makes getting around easy!
If you want to travel further afield, you have plenty of options.
Liverpool has two airports close by, Liverpool John Lennon Airport and Manchester Airport. While Manchester is a short drive away, it flies to a range of destinations not served by Liverpool John Lennon.
Liverpool Lime Street train station is the main railway terminus for the city. It links the city with most other larger towns and cities across the country and has direct lines to Manchester, Leeds, York, London and many others.
Liverpool also has motorway connections to the M62, M57 and M58 linking you to the wider UK road network. City traffic does get busy, but once you’re out of the centre, things calm down a lot!
Local buses are run by Stagecoach Merseyside and Arriva North West. Both offer local city centre services and out into the suburbs. National services include National Express and Megabus that provide coaches across the country.
Liverpool is also a port city, so you can arrive by cruise liner or by ferry from Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
