Brighton is a busy place with a lot going on. As part of the commuter belt of London, there are fairly good transport links around town.

Local buses are plentiful and cheap. Brighton & Hove Buses run throughout the area from early morning until late at night.

Driving around Brighton is both easy and difficult. The roads themselves are easy to navigate and well signposted. As our student accommodation is out of town, that’s easy to get to and parking is okay.

However, drive into the city and everything changes. Roads are exceptionally busy, especially in the summer, so you’d better add extra time to get anywhere!

Student life in Brighton

Brighton is an amazing place to be a student. It doesn’t have the same breadth of life that a big city like London does, but it has something the capital doesn’t, which is the seaside.

Brighton is also very easy-going. It’s a haven for creatives of all kinds and has amazing beaches, a thriving LGBT scene and a colourful, theatrical vibe that few other places can compete with.

Brighton has a relatively young population full of students, artists and creatives and commuters. It’s a busy place to live and always has something going on.

Shopping and dining are great, with The Lanes and lots of one-off shops and restaurants. There are chains here but there’s also a higher proportion of unique venues than most other places.

Highlights of Brighton include Brighton Pier, the beach and seafront, The Lanes, Brighton Toy and Model Museum, Booth Museum of Natural History, Brighton Open Market, Brighton Zip, The Painting Pottery Café, Hove Museum & Art Gallery, British Airways i360 Tower Top Climb, Komedia, Brighton Centre, Brighton Marina and the Upside Down House.
