Transport in Liverpool

Thanks to its port, Liverpool has plenty of transport links to everywhere in the country.


 

Arriving by air will bring you into John Lennon Airport or Manchester Airport. Both are a short distance outside the city but are accessible by car, bus or train.

The road network in Liverpool is pretty good. It gets busy at peak times like any city, but outside those times it’s easy to get around. You’ll find M62, M47 or M58 motorways close by for when you need to go further afield.

Liverpool Lime Street train station serves both local and intercity trains. The station has services linking London, Leeds, Birmingham, Manchester, York and many metropolitan areas.

Buses are plentiful too. Stagecoach Merseyside and Arriva North West run local services, while Megabus and National Express can take you further afield.

There are also plenty of taxis and Ubers to help you get around too.

Student life in Liverpool
