Lilian Knowles House in London, which is run by the national student accommodation provider, has been shortlisted in the best Specialist Accommodation category.
The accommodation is available exclusively to postgraduates at The London School of Economics and offers one-bedroom flats and studio apartments, as well as flats for four to eight people with a shared kitchen and dining area.
Boasting a central location close to Liverpool Street Station, Lilian Knowles House, which can house up to 366 students, is up against four other contenders for the award – another two in London, one in Lancaster and one in Glasgow.
The shortlist for each of the 14 categories has been compiled using the results of the National Student Housing Survey (NSHS), which received more than 40,000 votes. The winners will be announced on 10 September.
Sam McMillan, Director – Sanctuary Students, said: “To be a finalist in these awards, which are voted for by students, is a fantastic achievement for Sanctuary Students.
“We pride ourselves on providing excellent accommodation at all of our properties across the country so we are delighted that Lilian Knowles House has been recognised for this.”
Sarah Jones, NSHS project lead, added: “The finalists are delivering a truly excellent experience that students love. This was not decided by judges, but by students, and so the finalists should be particularly proud.”
