In December, we launched the Sanctuary Students Big Night In – we have six fun activities and challenges lined up over the coming months, which you can take part in from the comfort of your accommodation. With our flats ‘bubbling’ together, some of the activities will encourage you to join forces with (or even go head-to-head with!) your housemates.
For the first round, we challenged you to don your aprons and get into the festive spirit with your flatmates by taking part in the Gingerbread House Challenge. We posted out everything you needed to start baking – the rest was up to you!
And boy, did you get into the festive spirit! We loved seeing your creations – here are a few of our favourites, including our winner @ayearlongsleepover, who created this amazing model of our Grafton Street halls in Manchester, complete with supporting video on Instagram. Enjoy your prize!
We also loved this cosy woodland lodge by @onedayaway on Instagram, who said: “It was so funny making this and will certainly be a day to remember”. And talking of cosy, it looks like there’s a nice fireplace for the residents of Instagrammer @beccaslug’s gingerbread house to enjoy!
Stay tuned for the second edition of the Big Night In – we’ll announce it on our social media soon!
We know that Lockdown 3.0 will have caused some uncertainty, and we want you to know we’re here for you. We are doing everything we can to support our student community, from offering mental health support to bringing flatmates together with events like the Big Night In.
And, if you take part in the second Big Night In, remember to tag us on Facebook and Instagram with videos and pictures of your creations using the hashtag #sancstudentsbignightin for your chance to get your hands on a £100 Amazon voucher – could you be our next winner?
